GERT8000-TW1 Iss 17
Preparation and movement of trains
Synopsis
Summary Of Changes
Section 4.4 has been revised to explain that train operating company instructions can include an exemption from these restrictions on speed, when the lcoomotive concerned has a braking system that compensates for any isolated vehicles.
The table in section 5.3, ‘Track defect’ has been changed to refer correctly to Regulation 20 in module TS1.
Section 17 has been revised as it applies before starting the first journey of the day, rather than before every journey. Reference has been added in the same section to alternative means of preventing access along the train, as on some types of vehicle locking intermediate doors is not an appropriate or practicable way of doing this.
The requirement in section 21 for drivers and guards to have a watch with them when on duty has been replaced with a requirement to have available some device that provides a means of finding the accurate time.
A new instruction has been included at section 23 concerning the entry, validation and checking of train data for a train operating on ERTMS. The responsibility indicator for this part of the section has been corrected to 'driver'.
A number of changes have been made to section 43.1, ‘When other trains are put in danger’ to make it more consistent with the rules in module M1.
